That old t-shirt-
To the world, it was worn out and out of fashion. But to her, it was a memory she could hold on to.
That old pair of heels-
To the world, they were just six inch stilettos. But to her, they were something that had given her the confidence to stand tall amongst the crowd.
That old pair of glasses-
To the world, they didn’t have much use and should have been shelved by now. But to her, they were a reminder of her grandmother. A way to see life through her eyes.
That torn letter-
To the world, they were only pieces of paper. But to her, they were precious words of wisdom written by her father.
That rusty pocket watch-
To the world it was just an antique which could fetch her a lot of money. But to her, it was a token of love from her mother. With it she felt that she was always with her.
That little dollhouse-
To the world, it was just another toy to play with. But to her, it was something that allowed her to never have to grow up.
That old photograph-
To the world, it was just plain black and white. But to her, it was something that filled her life with color, every time she saw it.
She called it her treasure box.
To someone else, it didn’t seem like something important. But without it, she felt like she had nothing. She didn’t need money. She had never wanted fame. Neither did she want the world to feel the same.
All she wanted was to hold on to that little box, which to the world meant a worn out carton full of dust. But to her, it meant a universe full of magic.
